About Leonardo Gravina

I am Leonardo Gravina, a Belgian artist and designer specialising in handcrafted epoxy resin tables that bring together art, design and functionality.

The artist behind the work

Based in Lanaken, Belgium, I create bespoke dining tables, coffee tables and sculptural furniture for people who want something more personal than mass-produced design. My work explores colour, depth, movement and the relationship between artistic expression and functional objects.

For me, a table is more than a piece of furniture. It is an opportunity to create something distinctive: a functional artwork designed to become part of someone's home and everyday life.

Every piece begins with an idea. Through experimentation, craftsmanship and close attention to detail, that idea develops into a unique design.

My artistic approach: where resin becomes art

What draws me to epoxy resin is its ability to create depth, movement and visual effects that are difficult to achieve with conventional materials alone.

I work with flowing colours, layered compositions, metallic details and three-dimensional effects to create designs that can resemble natural landscapes, flowing rivers or abstract works of art.

Some designs are bold and dramatic, featuring deep black tones and striking gold details. Others explore softer colours, subtle transitions or marble-inspired patterns.

I do not want every table to look the same. Each design has its own visual character, and I enjoy exploring how colours and materials interact to create something unexpected.

The result is a collection of one-of-a-kind designs that combine artistic expression with everyday functionality.

From an idea to a handcrafted table

Every commissioned table is developed with care, from the initial concept to the final finish.

The process involves preparing the supporting structure, developing the visual composition, working with carefully selected resin colours, building up the design in layers and refining the surface.

Each stage contributes to the final appearance. The way the colours flow, the depth of the resin, the placement of metallic accents and the finish all influence how the finished piece looks in different lighting and surroundings.

This combination of creative freedom and technical precision is central to my work. It allows me to explore artistic possibilities while creating a table designed for practical use.

You can discover more about the techniques behind layered resin designs in my article, The Art of Depth: Why Multiple Resin Layers Create a 3D Masterpiece.

Bespoke design: your ideas, my craftsmanship

One of the most important parts of my work is the opportunity to create a table around a customer's vision.

You can use an existing design as a starting point and discuss changes to the dimensions, shape, colour palette, visual effects and table base. This creates the possibility of adapting a design to your interior rather than choosing a standard, mass-produced product.

Perhaps you are drawn to a black table with flowing gold details. Perhaps you prefer a blue composition with a sense of depth, or a softer marble-inspired design. Your preferences help guide the creative process.

My role is to translate those ideas into a coherent design while bringing my own experience, artistic judgement and craftsmanship to the result.

Functional art designed for everyday living

Although artistic expression is at the heart of my work, functionality remains essential.

A dining table must work within a space. Its proportions, shape, height and base all influence how it feels in a room and how people use it.

That is why I consider the table as a complete design: the artistic surface, the silhouette, the supporting base and the relationship between the piece and its surroundings.

My aim is to create furniture that attracts attention without losing its purpose: functional art that can be lived with, used and appreciated every day.

Each commission is approached individually, allowing the design to respond to the customer's space and preferences.

Handcrafted in Belgium, created for an international audience

My workshop is based in Lanaken, Belgium, where I create bespoke tables for customers looking for distinctive design and individual craftsmanship.

Although the work is handmade in Belgium, it is not limited to one market. I have delivered more than 375 tables worldwide, rated five stars, and you can read what customers say on the customer reviews page. Delivery is free and fully insured, with careful preparation and protective packaging for the journey, and import duties and taxes are taken care of. I do not ship until you have approved the finished table.

The process does not end when the table leaves the workshop. Making sure that each piece is prepared for delivery and that the customer understands the process is an important part of the overall experience.
