Gold Cloud Marble Dining Table: Hand-Poured Clouds of Metal Suspended in Resin
Share
There’s a reason the Gold Cloud design has become one of our most photographed and most requested tables: it doesn’t look painted, printed, or applied. It looks like clouds of liquid gold caught mid-drift beneath a pale marble sky, frozen at the exact moment they were flowing. That effect isn’t a trick of the camera — it’s the result of a technique built by hand, layer by layer, with no two results ever the same.
At Leonardo Gravina, the Gold Cloud table sits alongside our Galaxy and gemstone inlay designs as one of our signature marble-effect pieces — but where those designs lean cosmic or geological, the Gold Cloud table is softer, airier, and closer to watching weather move across a pale sky.
A Design Made Entirely by Hand
Every Gold Cloud table is poured and shaped by hand, without molds, stencils, or repeatable templates. The metallic veining you see — the way it billows, thins out, pools, and drifts across the surface — is guided in real time while the resin is still workable, using techniques developed specifically to create that cloud-like, organic movement rather than a rigid or repeating marble pattern.
Because of this, no two Gold Cloud tables are ever identical, even when made in the same base tones and dimensions. Each pour behaves slightly differently, and the resulting cloud formation is entirely its own — a genuine one-off, in the truest sense of the word.
Not Just Gold: Six Metallic Finishes
While the signature version of this design uses rich gold veining drifting across a soft ivory-and-taupe marble base, the same cloud technique can be created in a full range of metallic tones:
• Gold — warm, classic, and the most requested finish
• Silver — a cooler, more contemporary read on the same cloud effect
• Copper — warm and earthy, with a slightly more rustic character
• Bronze — deep and moody, well suited to darker interiors
• Rose gold — soft and romantic, popular in more feminine or Scandinavian-leaning interiors
• White gold — the most subtle option, for a nearly monochrome, understated finish
The choice of metallic tone changes the entire mood of the piece, even though the underlying cloud-forming technique stays the same.
Fully Customizable, From the Ground Up
As with all our tables, the Gold Cloud design is never limited to a fixed size or shape. You choose the exact dimensions and silhouette of the tabletop with us before we begin — round, oval, organic free-form, or otherwise. The base marble tone underneath the metallic clouds can also be adjusted to suit your interior, from cool greys and whites to warmer ivory and taupe tones, giving you full control over how dramatic or subtle the final piece feels in your space.
How the Effect Is Built
The cloud formations are not a single decorative layer sitting on top of the table — they are built into the resin itself through a multi-stage process:
1. A base layer establishes the marble tone and overall color direction of the piece.
2. Metallic pigment is introduced while the resin is still workable, and manipulated by hand to create the characteristic drifting, billowing cloud shapes rather than straight veining.
3. Additional resin layers are poured to seal and deepen the effect, giving the metallic clouds a sense of floating just beneath the surface rather than sitting flat on top of it.
4. The tabletop is fully cured, then sanded and polished to a high-gloss, glass-smooth finish that lets light travel into the layers rather than simply reflecting off them.
The result is a surface with genuine depth and movement — light catches the metallic particles differently depending on the angle you view it from, which is part of what gives the design its almost living quality.
Built to Last, Not Just to Look Beautiful
Despite its artistic complexity, a Gold Cloud table is a fully practical dining table. Once cured, the surface is hard, scratch-resistant, and easy to maintain — a soft cloth and a mild, non-abrasive cleaner is all it needs, in line with our other epoxy resin dining tables.
Pricing, as always, is fully inclusive of the table, worldwide delivery, and any import duties or customs costs, so there are no surprises after your order is placed.
FAQ
Is the gold cloud pattern painted on top of bthe table, or is it built into the resin?
It’s built into the resin itself, across multiple hand-poured layers. The metallic clouds sit within the material, which is what gives the design its sense of real depth and movement.
Can I get the cloud effect in a color other than gold?
Yes. The same technique can be created in silver, copper, bronze, rose gold, or white gold, in addition to the signature gold finish.
Will my table look exactly like the one in your photos?
No two Gold Cloud tables are ever identical, since each one is shaped by hand without molds or repeatable templates. Your table will follow the same technique and color direction, but the exact cloud formation will be unique to your piece.
Can I choose the size and shape of the table?
Yes. Every table is made to order in the exact dimensions and shape you choose, from round and oval to custom organic silhouettes.
Is this design durable enough for daily use as a dining table?
Yes. Once fully cured, the surface is hard and scratch-resistant, requiring only simple, gentle cleaning to maintain its gloss over time.
